FDOT is teaming up with the Tampa Bay Rays and will be present at the game today to hand out free safety materials to fans.

Pinellas County preserve has new April programs

Pinellas County, Florida -- Many hiking opportunities are available at Weedon Island Preserve in April.

Regular two-hour guided hikes begin at 9 a.m. each Saturday. Participants learn about the ecosystems and early residents of Weedon Island Preserve while hiking the coastal uplands and along boardwalks through mangrove forests. The hikes are best for ages 6 and older.

Pinellas Beach, Florida -- Nature lovers can enjoy guided hikes in Fort De Soto Park.

Saturday, March 16 people have the chance to go on a free one-hour hike along the campground trail at Fort De Soto Park. 

Hikers will absorb the history, natural beauty, and complexity of the ecology. 

It will begin at 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and leave from Fort De Soto Park, 3500 Pinellas Bayway South.

Pinellas County, Florida -- Time is running out to sign up for Viva Las Chicas 2nd annual bike ride Pedaling for Pink on March 2 to help raise money to help Tampa Bay families affected by a cancer diagnosis.

The one-day ride through Pinellas County will include a 5-mile, 32-mile, and a 64-mile route.

The bicycling event is designed for families and diehard riders alike, with something for everyone. It is a day to celebrate life with loved ones, friends, and hopefully, new acquaintances!

Gulf Beaches Rotary Golf & Tennis Challenge

Treasure Island - The three-day Gulf Beaches Rotary Golf & Tennis Challenge event started with Glow Golf Scramble on Thursday. 

Players paid $25, or $40 for a twosome to play some golf and raise funds for the City of Treasure Island's children's programs and the Gulf Beaches Rotary Foundation.

The second day of the challenge featured the St. Petersburg College Women's Tennis Team, a silent auction preview, a draw party and a reception with a catered dinner- all at Treasure Bay Golf and Tennis, 10315 Paradise Boulevard.
