REDINGTON SHORES, FLlorida- Young boaters enjoy fun times on the warm waters of the intercoastal. The area off Redington Shores is known for wake boarders and tubing, but early Tuesday the fun turned to tragedy when two teens being pulled on a round raft ended up slamming into a boat dock behind the Redington Yacht and Tennis Club.
"The boat towed the raft too close to the dock, the raft struck the dock, and the juveniles struck the dock themselves and were ejected," said Lt. Tom Nestor of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
One of the girls, 15-year-old Deviny Boese, slammed into the pilings. She died a short time later at St. Pete General Hospital. The other, 16-year old Sarah Dobbs, was much luckier treated for only a minor ankle injury at All Children's Hospital.

Pinellas marine deputies do not believe alcohol was involved but say 15-year-old Brandon Noah, the boat's operator was too young to be driving the 23-foot twin engine boat without proper training. He faces a non-criminal charge for reckless operation of a vessel resulting in fatality.
