Pinellas Park, Florida-- Learn to use your electronic device to expand your reading during the Pinellas Park Library's OverDrive E-book Training Workshop.

OverDrive service allows users access to free e-books and the library's downloadable audio collection.

Learn how to search for titles, place request and check out a title with your technology.

A brief presentation and user-friendly handouts will guide you through the process of downloading material.

Pinellas County Animal Services close on May 21

St. Petersburg, Florida -- Pinellas County Animal Services will be closed on Tuesday, May 21 for in-service day.

This will affect the Pinellas County Animal Services located at 12450 Ulmerton Road in largo.

Regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will resume on May 22.

Four local beach bars listed among Florida's top 10!

Clearwater Beach, Florida - For the third year in a row, Shephard's Beach Resort has made the Florida Beach Bar's top 10 list for 2013.

Jimmy B's Beach Bar, Bongos Beach Bar and Grille and Harry's Beach Bar, all in St. Pete Beach, also made the cut.

Photo contest for kids

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Humane Society of Pinellas is holding a photography contest for kids!

In honor of "Be Kind to Animals Week" children and teens can enter the contest by submitting a photo they took of a pet being treated kindly- or is just happy. There will be two age groups: 6-11 years and 11-16 years.

The contest will run now through May 31 and is open to all children between the ages of 6 adn 16.

Health volunteers needed

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County is looking for medical doctors, dentists and other health professionals who can give their time towards helping those in need.

Those who donate their time can earn CEUs and apply the hours they give to their license renewal fees. Hours are flexible and locations include health departments from Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg, community clinics of the volunteer's own practice.

Online job fair for Tampa Bay's youth

Clearwater, Florida -- From May 12 to May 18, people will have access to job opportunities through an online job fair targeting job seekers ages 14 to 24.

The hiring event will span a four-county radius including Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough and Pinellas.

“The virtual job fair is an opportunity to connect youth with employment so that they may gain the skills and experience necessary to become successful future members of the workforce,” said Edward Peachey, President and CEO of the Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance and WorkNet Pinellas.
